Materials

  • Construction paper
  • Real sticks
  • Red, orange, and yellow washable paint
  • Small paintbrush
  • Straws
  • Small cups or paint palette
  • Water
  • Glue

Instructions

  1. Arrange real sticks on the construction paper to create the shape of a campfire. Glue the sticks in place and allow them to dry.
  2. Add a little water to each paint color and stir to thin the paint slightly.
  3. Use a paintbrush to place a small dot of yellow paint on the paper above the sticks.
  4. Place a straw near the paint and blow gently through it, sending the paint in different directions to create the look of dancing flames.
  5. Repeat with orange and red paint, layering the colors to create a bright campfire.
  6. Allow the painting to dry completely.
