Practice counting 1-10 with this fun fall math activity! Kids press corn kernels into playdough corn cobs for hands-on number matching fun.

Materials

  • Yellow playdough
  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Dried corn kernels
  • Pen or marker

Instructions

  1. Cut corn husks from green construction paper.
  2. Roll yellow playdough and cut into corn cob shapes. Then place each cob inside the paper husks.
  3. Create number cards by writing numbers on small pieces of green construction paper.
  4. Place one number card above each corn cob.
  5. Invite children to read the number on the card.
  6. Count out the matching number of corn kernels.
  7. Press the kernels into the playdough to match the number shown.
  8. Repeat with each corn cob, encouraging children to count carefully and check their work.
