Materials
- Baking soda

- Yellow food coloring

- Vinegar
- Droppers or pipettes
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix baking soda with a small amount of water until it forms a thick, moldable paste.
- Add a few drops of yellow food coloring and stir until the color is evenly mixed.
- Scoop the paste onto a plate or tray and shape it into a large circle or a half-moon.
- Press your fingers or the back of a measuring spoon into the surface to create several moon craters.
- Fill droppers with vinegar and invite children to squeeze a few drops into each crater.
- Watch as the vinegar reacts with the baking soda, creating a fizzy, bubbling eruption inside each crater. Continue adding vinegar to explore the different craters.
