Make an adorable toilet paper roll Pete the Cat craft! This easy, budget-friendly project pairs perfectly with the beloved book series.

Materials

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Blue paint
  • Construction paper in blue, yellow, black, and white
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Marker

Instructions

  1. Paint the toilet paper roll. Paint the entire toilet paper roll blue. Allow it to dry completely.
  2. Make Pete’s ears. Fold the top edge of the toilet paper roll inward on both sides to create two pointed ears. Glue the folded sections in place.
  3. Cut out the eyes. Cut two yellow eye shapes from construction paper. Cut two smaller black circles for the pupils.
  4. Cut out the tail. Cut a blue tail out of construction paper.
  5. Add the pupils. Glue the black pupils onto the yellow eyes. Draw a small white circle inside each pupil to create Pete’s eyes.
  6. Add the eyes and tail. Glue the finished eyes onto the front of the blue toilet paper roll. Glue the tail to the side of the roll.
  7. Make the whiskers. Cut several thin, long rectangles from black construction paper for Pete’s whiskers.
  8. Glue on the whiskers. Glue the whiskers onto both sides of Pete’s face.
  9. Finish Pete’s face. Draw a white nose in the center of his face, if desired.
