Materials
- White paper
- Red marker
- 1 googly eye
- Paintbrush
- Orange paint
- Red paint
- Yellow paint
- Brown paint
- Scissors, optional
Instructions
- Paint your child’s hand with the paint. Paint the palm brown, then paint the fingers yellow, orange, and red. I alternated colors, but you can paint them in any pattern you’d like! The fingers will be the turkey feathers, so stick to Thanksgiving colors!
- Stamp your child’s hand down on the white paper. To ensure a complete handprint, press down firmly on the palm and each finger.
- Allow the paint to dry completely.
- Use the red marker to draw a turkey snood on the thumb. This is the red part that hangs over the turkey’s beak, not to be confused with the wattle, which is on the turkey’s neck. You can also use a yellow marker to draw a beak.
- Glue the googly eye on the thumb above the snood.
- Optional: Cut around the handprint with scissors. Alternatively, you can choose not to cut the handprint out and decorate the paper around the turkey.
