What You’ll Need For This Spider Handprint Craft

  • Paper or cardstock
  • Black paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes (2 large, 6 small)
  • Black Marker
  • White Marker

How To Make This Spider Handprint Craft

1. Paint your child’s hand black, excluding the thumb.

2. Press the handprint toward the top middle of the paper.

3. Turn the paper sideways.

4. Paint the hand again and repeat, pressing this handprint on the opposite side of the paper. Make sure they are connected. Place the palm on top of the palm print already on the paper.

5. Let the handprints dry completely before moving on.

6. Glue two big googly eyes in the center of the spider.

7. Glue six small googly eyes underneath the big ones.

8. Use the white marker to draw a smile under the eyes.

9. Use a black marker to draw a line from the top of the page to the spider.

10. Decorate the page with mini spiders using the black and white markers.

    Fun Variations For This Spider Handprint Craft

    Make a Web: Before stamping the handprints, draw a web for the spider to sit on. Then, stamp the handprints on top of it.
    Eyes: Add any amount or size googly eyes to the spider. You can also add googly eyes to the spiders in the background.

    Paper: Create the spider handprint craft on regular white paper or orange construction paper for an extra Halloween twist.
