Materials
- Orange construction paper
- Green construction paper
- Black construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil
Instructions
- Make the pumpkin body: Cut a large, rounded pumpkin shape from orange construction paper.
- Design the face: Give kids several different shapes to choose from so they can create their own unique jack-o’-lantern. They can mix and match:
- Eyes: triangles, circles, ovals, sleepy eyes, surprised eyes, or silly uneven eyes
- Noses: triangles, hearts, circles, or rectangles
- Mouths: toothy grins, crooked smiles, tiny smiles, or spooky frowns
- Cut the facial features from black construction paper and glue them onto the pumpkin.
- Add the stem: Cut a small rectangle from green construction paper and glue it to the top of the pumpkin.
- Make the arms: Cut two long strips of green construction paper. Fold each strip back and forth like an accordion to create the arms. Glue one arm to each side of the pumpkin.
- Make the legs: Cut two long strips of green construction paper. Accordion-fold each strip and glue them to the bottom of the pumpkin.
