How To Make This Jack-O-Lantern Craft
1. Make the pumpkin body: Cut a large, rounded pumpkin shape from orange construction paper.
2. Design the face: Give kids several different shapes to choose from so they can create their own unique jack-o’-lantern. They can mix and match:
- Eyes: triangles, circles, ovals, sleepy eyes, surprised eyes, or silly uneven eyesNoses: triangles, hearts, circles, or rectangles
- Mouths: toothy grins, crooked smiles, tiny smiles, or spooky frowns
3. Cut the facial features from black construction paper and glue them onto the pumpkin.
4. Add the stem: Cut a small rectangle from green construction paper and glue it to the top of the pumpkin.
5. Make the arms: Cut two long strips of green construction paper. Fold each strip back and forth like an accordion to create the arms. Glue one arm to each side of the pumpkin.
6. Make the legs: Cut two long strips of green construction paper. Accordion-fold each strip and glue them to the bottom of the pumpkin.
