How To Make This Spider Headband
1. Make the headband: Cut two wide strips of black construction paper. Glue the ends together to create one long strip.
2. Fit the headband: Wrap the strip around the child’s head to measure the correct size. Trim any excess paper, then glue the ends together to form the headband. Make sure it fits comfortably.
3. Make the eyes: Cut two circles from orange construction paper. Use a black marker to draw a pupil in the center of each eye.
4. Add the eyes: Glue the orange eyes onto the front of the headband.
5. Make the spider legs: Cut eight thin strips of black construction paper. Fold one end of each strip over to create a small tab.
6. Attach the legs: Add glue to the folded tabs and attach four legs to each side of the headband. Allow the glue to dry.
7. Shape the legs: Fold the free ends of the strips to give the spider legs a bent shape.
Fun Variations For This Spider Headband
Use any color construction paper for the spider eyes. While orange creates a spooky Halloween look, any color can be used.
You can use a stapler to attach the legs, if wanted. Staple it with the ends of the staple facing out so it doesn’t catch on your child’s hair.
